Pastor Al’s BIO

Religious History:

I am a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina and the son of a Baptist Preacher, Reverend Joseph Chisholm.  My late twin brother, Minister Alphonso Chisholm and I were the only sons of six children born to this union. Four out of six became ministers of the Gospel.

At age twelve, I joined Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. I participated in Christian Youth activities that included Sunday school, Youth Choir, Children’s Day celebrations and Children’s Easter Sunday Services.

Mother taught us God’s Word and instructed us in the ways of the Lord. My favorite times were attending church services and listening to my father’s sermons at Saint John’s Baptist Church in Chester, SC.

At the age of 15, my family relocated to Brooklyn, New York where we became members of the Friendly Christian Baptist Church of Brooklyn, NY. I joined the youth choir and continued learning and growing in my faith, biblical knowledge, and service to God. I fellowshipped with youth from other churches. One of my fondest memories was the trip we took to Peabody, MA where we fellowshipped with other Christian youths.

Upon graduating from Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn, New York, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and continued to attend and participate in religious services at military installations in the US and overseas.

In 1989, I joined with two brothers and a sister in Christ and formed and established the first Protestant Service at Hanscom Air Force Base. We organized ourselves around delivering Sunday morning worship, formed an adult choir of more than 20 dedicated participants, and fellowshipped with other churches in Boston, MA. Also, I was honored to participate in a Holocaust service that was sponsored by Jewish families at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Upon my retirement from the US Air Force as a Major, I settled in Burlington, MA and joined the Third Baptist Church of Lawrence, MA. While at Third, I became a member of the choir, served on the Pastoral Relations Committee, Superintendent of Adult Education, taught Adult Sunday School, Chaired their Nursing Home Ministry where I ministered to inpatients, caregivers and their families, Co-chaired the Search Committee, Chaired of Men’s Christian Education and became an Ordained Deacon, conducted Workshops on Spiritual Growth and Leadership, and conducted new membership training.

I answered God’s call to preach the Gospel and was licensed in December 2004. Since God’s calling, I have answered invitations to carry his message to many churches from Massachusetts to South Carolina and Puerto Rico.  I provided pulpit supply at: The First Baptist Church of Boston, The First Baptist Church of Gloucester, The First Baptist Church of Weston, The First Baptist Church of Bedford, and an Interim Minister at The First Baptist Church of Melrose, VA Bedford, First Baptist Church of Bedford, and Resident Pastor, First Baptist Church of Woburn, MA. And Martins Pond Baptist Church, Reading, MA.

As word of my enthusiasm and zeal for preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ spreads, I am sought after to provide inspiring sermons and fellowship with the congregants throughout New England and South Carolina.

Spiritual Ideologies:

Christ was crucified on the Cross for our sins. John3:16; For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 4:24; God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.  Luke 24:39; behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have. Christ was God and Man. 1 Timothy 2:5; “For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the Man Christ Jesus. Christ had a dual personality 1 Timothy 3:16, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.” John14:6; Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
